1.  In the summer, the Providence Rink is the best open-air venue in downtown Providence, hosting everything from concerts to roller derby matches. In the winter, it is transformed into a beautiful outdoor rink right next to Kennedy Plaza. 2.  Dennis M Lynch Arena has both public skate and public hockey available in their rink. And if you’re looking to join an adult hockey league, this is the place to go. This rink is located at 25 Andrew Ferland Way in Pawtucket. To learn more, go to www.bvsportscenter.com.

3.  The Cranston Veterans Memorial Ice Rink, this rink has some great adult and children’s hockey league options, and a number of different skating lessons as well, if you feel there’s some room for improvement. 4.  Washington Trust Community Skating Center in Westerly is just barely in Rhode Island–if you’ve got a good arm, you could throw a stone across the Connecticut border. It’s a good facility, though, and especially convenient for southern Rhode Islanders. It’s located at 61 Main Street in Westerly. Learn more here.
