Providence Children’s Museum

On any given day, the Providence Children’s Museum has a lot to offer the youths of Rhode Island. But on top of their day-to-day exhibits, the Children’s Museum has a number of interesting and educational events happening over the next month.

On Saturday the 15th and Saturday the 22nd of February, there are two separate events for aspiring young engineers. On the 15th, the “Be an Engineer” event will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Recommended for children five and up, this event, presented by the Society of Women Engineers. On the 22nd, from 11:00 to 2:00, a group of civil engineers will be talking about city, building, and bridge planning and construction.

Throughout February, the Children’s Museum will be hosting the “Pulleys and Gears” event, which will introduce children to simple machines in a fun, hands-on environment.

On March 1st and 2nd, the museum will host Suessational!, a celebration of Dr. Seuss’s works. The event will feature a number of hands-on exhibits, from puppet theater to a Cat in the Hat tossing game. This event is open from 11:00 to 2:00 both days.
