Your Weekend Docket…August 28-30th!

This weekend promises all sorts of Rhode Island fun!  Here are a few events that you should be sure to check out:

1.  Free Movie on the Beach at North Kingstown Beach–  Family fun starts at 6 pm at the North Kingstown Town Beach.  There will be face painting, games, movie treats and other food available for purchase.  You can also bring your own picnic along.  The feature film, Finding Nemo, will be showing at 8 pm!  Admission is free!  North Kingstown Town Beach, Beach Street 401-294-6710.
2. Newport Arts Festival 2015–  August 29th and 30th, Festival Fete will return with the Newport Art Festival at Bowen’s Wharf.  The festival will be in the Lobster Bar parking lot from 10am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will be food, crafts, music, vendors and so much more!   Details here.
3. Brew at the Zoo–  On August 29th, Roger Williams Park Zoo will be hosting the Brew at the Zoo.  This is a strictly 21+ event that will feature over 100 craft beers, local breweries, food vendors and more.  Click here for complete details.
4. Ocean State Summer Pops Orchestra–  August 29th at 7pm, Rhode Island’s only 60 piece Pops Orchestra will be performing all sorts of wonderful tunes for you and your family to enjoy.  Click here for complete details.

5.  WaterFire Providence- August 29th is a full lighting starting at 7:26pm.  Make a night of it and enjoy the beautiful city of Providence.  Click here for complete details.

6.  Field of Artisans–  August 29th and 30th from 11am-4pm, The Field of Artisans will be at Matunuck Town Beach.  A market filled with local art, creative minds, Yoga and other great vendors.  Click here for details.

7.  Farmer’s Market-  The season is right and the produce is ripe…find your way to one of RI’s many local outdoor markets.  This is the prefect way to spend a summer day while supporting local farmers, producers, suppliers and artisans.  Click here to learn when and where the outdoor markets are held.

8.  S.A.M Fest 2015-  This family event celebrates the innovative minds that have created all that Slater Mill is.  Enjoy art-making, food trucks, and festivities in Hodgson Park.  All while watching the beautiful Blackstone river rush by. Click here for details.

9.  Food Truck Fridays-  The season is winding down and this is your chance to catch Food Truck Fridays at Roger Williams Park Zoo.  In addition to food, there will be beer vendors, carousel rides, and lots of room for picnicking.  Click here for details.

10.  D.Y.D…DO Your Dance-  A Fair-Trade music series will be taking place on August 29th at 7 pm at the Met.  Come and listen to the incredible talent all while raising awareness about issues taking place in the music industry today.  Click here for details.
